Where we work

The CRTR Program is a global program with research, training and knowledge exchange activities taking place worldwide.  The Program supports a network of international researchers and students from 23 countries: Australia, Belize, Canada, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, France, Guatemala, Israel, Japan, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Mozambique, Palau, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Tanzania, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States of America and Venezuela.  This network reflects the range and location of research being undertaken which is supported and / or applied through the Program.

Regional Centres of Excellence

The CRTR Program is coordinated across geographic nodes (Centres of Excellence) – Philippines, Mexico, Zanzibar and Australia - that reflect the regional distribution of coral reefs and the management initiatives underway to conserve them.

The CRTR Program is also undertaking a number of other projects in the regions aimed at building local capacity and knowledge of coral reef ecosystems and the impacts on them.

Australasia

From its base at Brisbane and at Heron Island on the Great Barrier Reef, the Australasian Centre of Excellence operates as one of the largest platforms of coral reef research in the world.
